Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech has been awarded a US$100, 000 Ford Foundation Project Grant for the development of an Art Museum project in the College.
According to a release, the project that will incorporate advocacy against Sexual Harassment (SH) and Gender-Based Violence(GBV), will be handled and supervised by the Grant Research Team made up of Dr A A Abiodun, a Chief Lecturer in Dept of Chemical Science; Dr Funmilayo Doherty, a Principal Lecturer in the Dept. of Biological Science and Mrs Odun Orimolade, a Principal Lecturer in Dept of Fine Art.
While the trio wrote the proposal that won the $100, 000 grant for the College, the location of the museum which will be at the Basement of School of Art building, will be monitored by Debaseki Mac-Ikemenjima(Ph.D) and Mrs Joy Ehinor-Esezobor, Grant Manager of Ford Foundation West Africa office.
Speaking at the flag-off of the project at the College, Prof. Paul Nwulu, Ford Foundation Senior Programme Officer, disclosed that, ” the partnership between Yaba College of Technology and Ford Foundation is that of progress and development.”
The Rector, Engr Obafemi Omokungbe thanked Ford Foundation for the grant and assured that the college management will give the project its maximum support.
