We blackmail victims and disposses them of valuables- suspects

Operatives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, (SCIID) are currently investigating three suspects specialised in blackmailing their prey by taking video recording of them with mischievous ladies and forcefully dispossesing them of their valuables.

The suspects identified as Aspita Mercy, Jonathan Ukonues Estreem and Emmanuella Ozeegi, were arrested after the police received intelligence report on the 17th September 2019 at about 3:30pm that the suspects were preying on a victim.

It was learned that their modus operandi was to lure their victims especially married men through unsolicited dating by the female gang member, Emmanuella Ozeegi. Once she succeeds, she invites the victim to a hotel or residence of the kingpin Aspita Mercy. The lady will then make a phone call to her master and they will immediately burst into the room, attack their victims and order the lady and victim to be naked for video recording.

It was gathered that the victim will be searched and dispossessed of his valuables after which he is forced to write an undertaking for payment of ransom, failure to do so will amount to the video clips going viral.

The trio who have confessed to have successfully carried out two operations, met their waterloo recently while attempting to blackmail one Musa, a bureau de change agent.

Parading the suspects alongside other notorious criminal elements, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubariu muazu said that one of the suspects, Emmanuella Ozeegi lured one Musa a bureau de change operator to a hotel with the pretense that she had some Euros at home which her brother brought from abroad and she wanted naira equivalent of two million. They were however arrested in the process. The suspects will be charged to court”.
