Police investigates death of man, woman whose bodies were found in a vehicle

The Lagos state police command is currently investigating the circumstances that led to mysterious death of man and woman whose bodies were found in a car at Maryland area of Lagos, Saturday morning.

Newsbeats learned that the corpse of the duo identified as Emmanuel Chetan and Annie Bose Akhadelor were discovered by residents who noticed that the stationed vehicle had been parked for hours and on a closer look noticed that the two occupants were not moving.

On the deceased man, was an identity card which had the name Emmanuel Chetan, creative director Image WorldVisuals.

According to a food vendor, Iya Awal, who spoke to Newsbeat at the scene, “when I came to the shop on Saturday morning I saw the car parked at that spot. I didn’t really brother about the occupants because it is normal for people to park beside the road. But after hours people ñoticed that something was wrong as the the people inside the vehicle were unconscious and not moving. It was then that the residents raised alarm and called the police who came and took their bodies away. It is only God that knows what happened to them.”

It was also gathered that the police were called to the scene around 8.30am on Saturday and when the police arrived they recovered the bodies, identity card of the driver and his phone, alcoholic beverages and some local concoctions that were suspected to be herbal mixtures.

The bodies have been deposited in a morgue for autopsy while all recovered Items have been forwarded to Forensic experts for analysis.

Confirming the report, the spokesperson Lagos state police command CSP Chike Oti, said that the State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu has directed the forensic unit of the homicide section, SCIID Panti, to carry out detailed investigation into the matter and submit reports within one week.
