Over 1600 students for LASU’s Sandwich Degree Programme

The Director, Sandwich Degree Programme, Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo, Professor Olusola Oladipupo, at the 2019 orientation for freshers, disclosed that over 1600 students got admitted into the 2019 Sandwich Degree Programme.

Prof. Oladipupo who revealed activities done by the Centre for the Sandwich programme said that “Over 1600 of you (students) were admitted but only the lucky ones will graduate in the end. To be among the lucky ones, you have to conform to certain rules and regulations and that is the essence of the orientation.

“At the Centre, we don’t condone indolence. We adhere to the rule of law. We have a calender which we adhere strictly to. Don’t be shy to meet us to clarify any issues.” She said.

Earlier in his opening remark, the Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Yemi Akinkuotu told the freshers to see education beyond entering the four walls of the university.

He however advised the students to be focused, and to shun all forms of social vices especially cultism which the institution has zero tolerance for.

His words: “Entering the university is not what matters. What matters is passing through the university and allowing it to pass through you.

“In the University, there are dos and don’ts. Here, cultism and other vices are not tolerated. Hard work and diligence are what we celebrate and I hope you hold on to this. I congratulate you and your parents. ” He intoned.

While the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Femi Obayori spoke on the expectations of the students, Dr. O. G Akindoju gave an overview of processes of online course registration; results and graduation requirements among others.
