Our initial plan was to rob our boss, not kill her — Murder suspect

Lolo Ayaba

One of the suspects Ehizojie Vincent Jeffery, who connived with other staffs to rob and murder his boss Olusola Olusoga, and Tunji Omikunle, has revealed his role in the murder of the Director and of Business Manager of Etashol Hotels and Suites respectively.

According to Ehizojie Vincent Jeffery who is currently being investigated, “I was part of the staffs that planned to rob our boss Olusola Olusoga who owns the hotel but I wasn’t the one that killed her or the business manger”.

Our initial plan was not to kill her or the hotel manager Tunji Omikunle, it was to rob madam of her hard earned local and foreign currency being a London returnee. Five of us actually planned it when we realised that madam Olusola is miserly and that we have no future in that hotel. The names of the others are: Henry Lolo, Okechi light Ezi, two contract staff who we call Dubai and Dangote”.

Ehizojie Vincent Jeffery, who was tracked to Port Harcourt, where he had gone to take refuge after the heinous act, added that “we agreed that for us to carry out a hitch-free operation, Henry Lolo, who is currently at large, should prepare noodles a delicacy loved by all staff members and laced it with a sleep inducing stimulant called S. K which was served the rest of the staff who were not part of the plan.

On the 25th of January, we decided to carry out our plan. Our plan worked out successfully as all the staffs who ate the food laced with the stimulant slept off except the manager Tunji Omikunle who was already asleep before he could be served with the poisoned meal”.

All attempts to steal the key to Olusola Olusoga bedroom from Tunji Omikunle proved abortive as he woke in the process and began to struggle with the others at the reception area; in the ensuing scuffle, the manager was strangled to death. After strangulating the hotel manager, Tunji Omikunle, we searched his pockets but couldn’t find the keys, so we went upstairs to the late CEO’s room and forced it open. We tied her hands and legs unfortunately by the time we were through she had died.”

It was learned that the gang stole her money, N50, 000 Jewelleries and other personal effects but couldn’t take it out of the hotel for fear of being challenged by a Police team stationed close to the hotel. So they abandoned the loot in the hotel which has been recovered as exhibit by homicide detectives investigating the case.

The commissioner of police Imohimi Edgal, said that the CCTV footage available to the Police, clearly showed the role played by each of the participants in the crime. Investigation has established a prima facie case of conspiracy and murder against the suspects, Ehizojie Vincent Jeffery and others still at large for the murder of the deceased person, Olusola Olusoga and Tunji Omikunle. Suspects so far arrested will be charged to court for murder while efforts are on top gear to arrest other suspects still at large.
