Land grabbers on rampage, unleash terror on Ogun community

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested ten suspected members of a land grabbing syndicate who unleashed terror on innocent residents of  Ewujomo village via Igbosoro in ogijo area of the state.

The suspects identified as Ismaila Lawal, Tope Oniyide, Sodiq Lawal, Ahmed Olaringbe, Gafar Kafo, Ismaila Haruna, Okanlawon Olabinjo, Kamoru Arulogun, Suleman Oresesun and Kazeem Oresesun, were arrested following a distress call received by the police in ogijo division that the hoodlums who came with motorcycles armed with dangerous weapons have invaded the village, resulting in the villagers running helter skelter.

Sequel to the distress call, the DPO Ogijo Division CSP Suleman Baba Muhammed mobilized his men and moved to the scene. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums whose actions have thrown the community into pandemonium,  started shooting sporadically but were overpowered by the police who succeeded in apprehending ten of them while some escaped with various degrees of injuries.

 

It was learned that the police recovered two live cartridges, two expended cartridges, one expended Brownie pistol ammunition, charm and three Bajaj motorcycles from the arrested suspects.

Confirming their arrest, the Spokesperson Ogun State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.”

CP Ebrimson further warned that anybody with criminal intent will not find a safe haven in Ogun State and any criminal who decides to test the will power of the command, will meet his Waterloo.

However, he assured the good people of Ogun State of adequate security especially during the Yuletide season.
