A 21-year old man, Umar Audu, who is currently being investigated for murder by the Niger State Police Command, has revealed that he killed his neighbour Abubakar Mohammadu with matchet for making love advances to his wife.

According to Audu, “I don’t regret killing the victim because he decided to die like a chicken. In his next life, Mohammadu will not make advances to married women.”

Explaining further, Audi, noted that “I am ready to bear the consequences. Let the law take its course. I am fulfilled that Mohammadu will never see my wife again, Allah will judge him.

It was learned that after Umar Audu hacked his neighbour to death, a team of policemen attached to the New-Bussa Division Niger State Police Command arrested him.

News beats gathered that Audu who lived with the deceased in the same address, was alleged to have killed the victim on suspicion that Mohammadu was making love advances to his wife.

Suspect’s wife account

According to Hassan Audu, the suspects wife, sometime in May 2019, I reported to my husband that Mohammadu was disturbing me for an amorous relationship, which I turned down. After I complained to my husband, he met with Mohammadu and warned him on several occasions to desist from making advances to me, his wife but Mohammadu reportedly ignored the warnings. On the day of the incident, my husband, who was unable to control his anger, took the laws into his hands and attacked Mohammadu with a machete and inflicted deep cuts on his head, which resulted in his death”, she explained.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammad Abubakar, said that , Umar Audi was arrested for allegedly killing one Abubakar Mohammadu of the Fulani Camp, Wawa village in New-Bussa, Borgu Local Government Area of the state.

The matter he said would be charged to court after investigation.”
