I killed her out of provocation, I didn’t rape her

… murder suspect reveals

Lolo Ayaba

A 39-year-old man, Tunmise Abraham who is currently being investigated by the Ekiti State Police Command for killing his landlady, Bukola Olanrewaju in Ado-Ekiti, has revealed that he only killed the victim but didn’t rape her.

According to Tunmise Abraham, it was out of provocation I killed her. I had disagreement over house rent issues with her husband, Mr. Raphael and she provoked me.

Denying the accusation that he raped the victim, a mother of three to death, Abraham said I only hit the victim in the head with a big stick before tying her hands to make her weak during a fisticuff”.

Explaining further, Abraham said on the day of the incident, August 22, I called my landlady that I wanted to leave the house after paying N23,000 in June and this will last till May next. I said that the husband needed to refund part of my money for me to get another apartment, but the woman said that would never happen.”

“When we started arguing, she started calling me names. She abused me by calling me a ‘stammer,’ charlatan and other unprintable names, which angered me. She later held my clothes and I slapped her and pushed her away from me.

“The woman now came with a stick and I overpowered her and collected the stick, which I used to hit her on the head and she fell. Upon realising she had died, I became worried and I had to run to a church in Akure for refuge.”

Confirming the incident, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command said on the 22nd of this month at about 3:30pm one Olanrewaju Bukola, aged 38yrs old (victim) was murdered by Tunmise Abraham who was a tenant to the deceased.

The suspect after committing the act relocated to Ondo State where the operatives of the Command through Intelligence led operations arrested him. The arrested suspect confessed that a few number of time, the deceased resorted to calling him all sorts of names like stamerer, mad person which angered him.

This generated into a fight and the suspect over powered the deceased by collecting the stick she was holding forcefully from the deceased and used the stick to beat the deceased on the head which resulted to serious head injury.
