I conspired with my lover to kidnap my 6-year-old stepsister -suspect

Ibrahim Kasim, a 22-year old member of a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Kastina and Zamfara states, is currently being investigated by the Kastina Police Command, for kidnapping his step sister.

It was learned that the suspect, Ibrahim Kasim and members of his syndicate kidnapped his 6-year-old step sister, Asiya Kasim of the same address, to Talata Mafara LGA of Zamfara state.


It was gathered that Special Anti Robbery Squad attached to the  state police command led by SP Andrew Alphouse swooped  into action and arrested the mastermind of the kidnap incident.   In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to have conspired with his girlfriend, one Murja of Zamfara state.

The victim was however, rescued on Friday 28, November at about 15:30pm


Suspect’s account

According to Ibrahim Kasim, “I conspired with my girlfriend Murja of Zamfara state to kidnap the victim. I was the one that organized the kidnapping including the phone number of my father which we used to demand the sum of N10 million naira from the victims family.”

Confirming the incident the spokesperson Kastina Police Command Gambo Isah said that the “Command is making effort to apprehend other members of the syndicate.  Investigation is ongoing.”


Similarly the police has arrested a  38-year old woman Aisha Abubakar for poisoning her step daughter in Rimi local government area of Katsina State.

Aisha Abubakar reportedly killed her 4-year-old step daughter who was kept under her care, through administering of poisonous food.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was later confirmed dead by the attending physician.

In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to committing  the crime due to  a long time hatred for the victim’s mother.
