A 25-year-old murder suspect, Oguegbu Promise who is currently being investigated by operatives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department, Panti for allegedly killing his landlord, Rasaki Balogun and his mistress Muyibat Alabi has revealed that the victim’s wife killed him and that he is innocent of the allegations.
According to Promise who was paraded alongside other notorious criminals, “It was my landlord’s wife that actually killed him and his mistress.
She poisoned the both of them after tieing their hands. I saw her when she was committing the crime.”
According to Promise, “On that 18th of June, I was inside my apartment when she called me to come to her husband’s apartment when I got there I met a tall man, tying up my landlord while his wife ordered me to tie the mistress after which she put something in their mouth. I was the one that saw her putting it. She gave me the husband’s car key and said I should be quiet and not expose her.”
Weeping Promise who just returned from South Korea said, “I am innocent I did not kill the man.”
It will be recalled that opn the 18th of June the corpse of 56-year-old Rasaki Balogun, and his mistress, Muyibat Alabi were found at No. 16, Taiwo Oke, Victory Estate, Ejigbo in Lagos.
According to the police, Balogun lived alone in his house, while his family lived somewhere else.
The remains of the deceased persons were recovered two days after they were murdered, by operatives from the Ejigbo Police Division after Balogun’s wife brought the incident to the knowledge of the police.
Sequel to the report, the crime scene was sealed off for forensic analysis while the corpses were evacuated to the hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile detectives from the homicide department of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba, are still investigating the case and the suspect will be charged to court.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu who paraded the suspect at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba, yesterday said Promise was arrested after he committed the dastardly act.
Muazu warned parents to watch over their children and prevent them from the intake of hard drugs and bad gangs. He said the suspect is still undergoing investigation and he would be charged to court after conclusion of the investigation.
