CP Odumosu rescues corp member abducted at Epe

…kidnapper arrested

The Lagos State Police Command has rescued one Onyiwara Chinwe Faith, a Corp member serving at ABC Farm, at Ilamija Nla village in Epe area of Lagos.

 

It was learned that Faith who was abducted on Saturday 29 November while on her way to attend CDS meeting at Ilamija area of Epe was rescued on Tuesday 3rd December at about 2:20am

 

The rescue operations which witnessed a gun battle between policemen and suspected kidnappers was  coordinated by the Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu in a swamp forest around Ilamija Nla in Epe.

 

It was learned that Faith’s abductors initially demanded for the ransom of fifty million naira but later reduced it to N400,000 from the Farm Manager to be dropped at Ijebu Ososa area. But the police said no ransom was paid.

 

It was learned that kidnappers’ ring leader Moses Ofeye 31 years old from Ondo State, of Ijaw origin, was arrested with gun wounds while the victim was taken to hospital for medical attention due to the shock and trauma she experienced and long distance trek.

 

Confirming the arrest,  the spokesperson Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana noted “that the suspect is in custody.

Meanwhile the victim  is in stable condition. She has just been handed over to the Lagos State Coordinator of the NYSC and her family by the Commissioner of Police.”
