Chelsea have agreed a deal with the Supercoppa winners, Juventus to sign Gonzalo Higuain on loan until the summer.
This will see the Argentine’s loan deal with AC Milan cut short.
Newsbeats gathered that the deal will see the Blues handed an option to buy the striker outright for £32.5 million (€36m) upon the completion of a six-month loan, with a series of performance related bonuses being paid to Juventus on the basis of goals scored and appearances.
Higuain and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri have been pushing for a reunion since the Italian took the reins at Stamford Bridge and it appears now that the pair will finally get their wish after talks between the Premier League side and the Serie A champions.
Higuain was not in AC Milan’s starting line-up to face Juventus in the Italian Super Cup last night.
