President Muhammadu Buhari has showered encomium on the Super Falcons over their victory against Korea Republic.
In a statement on the President’s twitter handle, it stated that, “I’m pleased I was able to watch the Super Falcons match against South Korea, after the Democracy Day Lunch.
“Congratulations to the Team and Coaching Crew. A well-deserved win on a very special day for Nigeria. We are all proud of your victory.”
The 90 minutes victory gave the team a bit of confidence, after their defeat against the Norwegian women in the ongoing Women’s World Cup.
Two goals from each half of the game were all they needed to bury the game. A 29th minutes own goal from D. Kim and 75th minutes solo goal from Asisat Oshoala were enough to put the game to rest.
This ensures the Super falcons to stand on three point with host nation France and Norway.
Meanwhile, the Super falcons will come out in full force against the France female national team on Saturday, 15th of June, 2019 in a must win encounter.
